This example support note shows how to create a CUSTOM LABEL LAYOUT and then use the layout to print a run of uniquely numbered labels.

To Designing Custom Form

1. You need to setup a Label Layout that matches the barcode dimensions and label printer settings. Select Barcodes then Label forms from the TOOLS MENU in ICXE.

3. Enter the details for a single label – the example below is for a 100mm x 70mm label – RENAME the label by clicking in the Select Label field and overtyping over typing the original template name.

4. Click Save Form and you are ready to layout a new LABEL using the Layout Wizard.

To Designing Custom Label

1. Choose Layout Wizard from the TOOLS – Barcodes menu.

2. Click Create New Layout and assign a label name and choose the previously created LABEL FORM – in this example we are using the item number.

3. Choose an ITEM layout – CODE 128 Barcode font – note that the label can be updated later to refine the layout for font and barcode sizes after you have run a few test prints.

4. Now select the general format of text lines to be applied. In this example we choose 1 above and three below.

5. Choose the FONT format for each line.

6. Enter the required text content to be applied.

7. Now save the Template.Image Removed

The template is added to a LAYOUTS.XML file – if you would like to make copies of the layout and changes this can be done using a text editor by copying, pasting and editing the layout an updating the details for each new layout.



STEPS
To Print Series of Labels

1. Choose Print Labels from the TOOLS – Barcodes menu.

2. Select the LAYOUT form

3. Choose RANGE then enter the PRODUCT CODE and DAY CODE in the PREFIX as shown below. To create a series of codes enter a number to start from and end to. NOTE the leading 1XXXX is required to maintain format. Choose Print Barcodes.
