Setting Windows Permissions and Registry Keys Needed for ICXE

Description

The following support note Outlines the permissions required by Users of the Inventory Controller XE software Application.

In general Inventory Controller XE Domain Users must have READ / WRITE / MODIFY permissions to a set of predefined REGISTRY KEYS and FOLDERS/FILES within the software environment.

Failure to provide adequate security permissions can cause certain features and functions of ICXE to operate incorrectly or not at all.

Detail Steps

Step 1: Log into the Server console as an Administrator

Step 2: Open Windows Explorer by right clicking on the start button and clicking explore

Step 3: Locate the folder in which Inventory Controller XE has been installed. Eg. C:\Program Files\Datapel Systems

If the user is in the list skip to step 15.

Step 16: Now repeat steps 7 to 15 for all users that will be using ICXE
