Print- Setting up a Local Printer on a Network

This procedure explains how to automatically connect with a printer attached to your workstation when using the Datapel Inventory Controller XE.

1. To connect Printers on your PC you must edit your Datapel ICXE Server login shortcut.

This is also know as a “Remote Desktop Connection” session.

2. Right click on the short-cut icon used to start your remote ICXE session with your server.

3. Select Options then select the Local Resources Tab.

4. Tick the checkbox next to Printers as shown.

Select the General Tab and select ‘Save As’ to save the changes and close this window.

5. Start your ICXE Session – when ready to print – select Printer Options and the local printer should now show in the list of available printer resources.

Try Installing Printer Drivers on the Server and Browsing for Shared Printers on the network – this will allow you to use printers on other workstations located on your local network.

Note: If your printer(s) does not display as a select able please contact your IT Systems Administrator.
