ICXE - Setup & Create Items

DESCRIPTION

Let's create a new Item in Inventory Controller XE. 
All Items (Products) in ICXE can be found in the Items List Register.

STEPS

From the main menu choose Lists - New - Item a blank item form is displayed 

Enter a unique Item Number and Name.

In this example we are creating a product for Clearwater Wholesalers

• Item Number : 670
• Item Name : 12 Litres of Clear Carbon.

When setting up a new item it is important to note that the Item Number must be unique. This is the key reference to the product and is typically short so as to be easily remembered. The Item Number is typically 20 - 30 characters while Name can be between 30 - 50 characters and Item Notes can be up to 250 characters in length.

Notice there is no where to put the stock quantity, that is because the setup requires an Item Master List to be created first - to Add Inventory you must book in stock as a Receiving Order or as a Check In. 

Choose Close to save changes to the new Item. The Item List will refresh and show the new product with 0 quantity OnHand. 

Click Close to Save the new Item.
